Flights:
Outback Balloon LLC provides flights for one, two or three people. The cost is $180.00 per person per flight. The flight will last approximately one hour, depending on the weather and the local landing conditions. Balloon flights are launched as close to sunrise as possible for the best flying conditions and end with a light brunch which includes a champagne toast or sparkling cider for our friends that do not drink champagne. Outback Balloon LLC normally flies in the McMinnville, Oregon area, from Rock of Ages Retirement Facility. No alcohol is allowed on this site, please do not bring any alcohol with you. Brunch is provide at another location. You will be asked to sign a liability waiver prior to the flight, which is a requirement of our insurance carrier. Ballooning is one of the safest and most peaceful types of flight. Please join us for one if the most wonderful experiences that you will ever have. Please book your flight by calling 503 866-5833. Tethered Flights: Outback Balloon LLC provides tethered flights for parties and other gatherings. The cost is $650.00 per hour, with a two hour minimum and a $350.00 deposit. You will need to provide an 200 foot by 200 foot flat grassy area without any obstructions with four tie off points. The tie of points can be large SUV type vehicles, medium size forklifts, or other heavy objects that can be maneuvered into different positions as necessary for a safe tethered flight. The tie off will be done with ropes or nylon webbing to the vehicles. Small pickups and other light weight vehicles can not be used since they do not provide for a safe tethered flight. A concrete or asphalt area of the same size can work also if it is clean and clear of foreign objects. All of these requirements are for the safety of the equipment and everyone involved with the tethered flight. Depending on weather conditions Outback Balloon LLC will try to continue to fly the contracted time. Outback Balloon LLC reserves the right to stop flying the balloon for the safety of everyone involved in the tethered flight. Wind gusts, rain in any form, or other unsafe weather conditions will end the tether flight. The two hour minimum will apply. If you are within 10 miles of the McMinnville there will not be a travel charge. If you are outside the local area, travel costs will be added to the cost of the tether. These costs will depend on current fuel and hotel costs. Since this these costs are so volatile, please contact Outback Balloon LLC for current travel cost. Stationary Displays: The requirements for stationary displays are similar to tethered flights. The difference is that the cost is $650.00 per hour, with a two hour minimum and a $350.00 deposit. No flights will be provided and a secured area will need to be provided for the safety of the everyone one evolved. You will need to provide an 150 foot by 150 foot flat grassy area without any obstructions with four tie off points. The tie of points can be large SUV type vehicles, medium size forklifts, or other heavy objects that can be maneuvered into different positions as necessary for a safe tethered flight. The tie off will be done with ropes or nylon webbing to the vehicles. Small pickups and other light weight vehicles can not be used since they do not provide for a safe stationary display. Training Flights: Training can be provided, but is only done after meeting all the necessary FAA ground school requirements and passing your FAA Written Exam. Balloon Repairs: Repairs are done per the FAA and manufacturer’s specifications. Outback Balloon LLC will only work on balloons that we have experience on and meet the FAA requirements for an A & P Mechanic to do repairs. The current list is Aerostar, Cameron, Thunder & Colt, Sky, and Ultra Magic balloons. If you have a balloon manufacturer that is no longer in existence and have all the proper maintenance manuals Outback Balloon LLC can provide services. The repairs on balloons of manufacturers that are no longer in existence can only be done as long as proper aircraft parts are available. Outback Balloon LLC currently charges $65.00 per hour for repairs. Changes in hourly fees could change without notice on this web site. Travel charges are added for work more than 10 miles from our hanger. Please contact us to setup an appointment at: (503) 866-5833 Balloon Annuals: Outback Balloon LLC does provide balloon annuals on all manufacturers. Outback Balloon has experience with Aerostar, Cameron, Thunder & Colt, Sky, Ultra Magic, Adams, and other balloon manufacturers. If you do not see your manufacturer in this list please contact us for the most current list. If we do not have the manuals for your model of balloon you will need to provide the manuals prior to the start of the annual. Following are the prices set to for balloon annuals by Outback Balloon LLC. Balloon annuals are done at $400.00 per balloon for balloons 105 cubic feet and smaller. Outback Balloon can provide people to help with the annual or if you are willing to provide personnel the cost will be reduced to $350.00. The annual can be performed at our location, your location, or at any appropriate area within the Portland FSDO area. Balloon annuals are done at $500.00. for balloons larger than 105 cubic feet up to 150 cubic feet. Additional help will need to be provided or balloons larger than 120 cubic feet. Prices for the additional help are $50.00 per person and the amount of people needed will depend upon the individual circumstances. The annual can be performed at our location, your location or at any appropriate area within the Portland FSDO area.
