Flights:
Outback Balloon LLC provides flights for one, two or three people. The cost is $189.00 per person per flight. The flight last approximately one hour. The length of flight depends on weather and local landing conditions. You will spend most of a beautiful morning enjoying your flight. Flights start at Sunrise and end with a non-alcoholic brunch is provided at the landing location or at the launch area. Outback Balloon LLC normally flies in the McMinnville, Oregon area, from Rock of Ages Nursing Home. You will be asked to sign a liability waiver which is a requirement of our insurance carrier. Ballooning is one of the safest and most peaceful types of flight. Please join us for one if the most wonderful experiences that you will ever have. Tethered Flights:
Outback Balloon LLC provides tethered flights for parties and other gatherings. The cost is $750.00 per hour, with a two hour minimum and a $500.00 deposit. You will need to provide an 200 foot by 200 foot flat grassy area without any obstructions with four tie off points. The tie of points can be large SUV type vehicles, medium size forklifts, or other heavy objects that can be maneuvered into different positions as necessary for a safe tethered flight. The tie off will be done with ropes or nylon webbing to the vehicles. Small pickups and other light weight vehicles can not be used since they do not provide for a safe tethered flight. A concrete or asphalt area of the same size can work also if it is clean and clear of foreign objects. All of these requirements are for the safety of the equipment and everyone involved with the tethered flight.
Outback Balloon LLC will try to continue to fly the contracted time, but this all depends on the weather conditions and the safety of everyone involved in the tethered flight. Wind gusts, rain in any form, or other unsafe weather conditions will end the tether flight. The two hour minimum will apply.
If you are within 10 miles of the McMinnville there will not be a travel charge. If you are outside the local area, travel costs will be added to the cost of the tether. These costs will depend on current fuel and hotel costs. Since this these costs are so volatile, please contact Outback Balloon LLC for current travel cost.
Stationary Displays:
The requirements for stationary displays are similar to tethered flights. The difference is that the cost is $750.00 per hour, with a two hour minimum and a $500.00 deposit. No flights will be provided and a secured area will need to be provided for the safety of the everyone one evolved.
You will need to provide an 150 foot by 150 foot flat grassy area without any obstructions with four tie off points. The tie of points can be large SUV type vehicles, medium size forklifts, or other heavy objects that can be maneuvered into different positions as necessary for a safe tethered flight. The tie off will be done with ropes or nylon webbing to the vehicles. Small pickups and other light weight vehicles can not be used since they do not provide for a safe stationary display. Training Flights:
Training can be provided, but is only done after meeting all the necessary FAA ground school requirements and passing your FAA Written Exam. Outback Balloon LLC recommends that individuals that want to learn to fly Hot Air Balloons do so at a FAA Part 141 certified school.
Balloon Repairs:
Repairs are done per the manufactures specifications. Outback Balloon LLC will only work on balloons that we have experience on and meet the FAA requirements for an A & P Mechanic to do repairs. The current list is Aerostar, Cameron, Thunder & Colt, and Ultra Magic balloons. If you have a balloon manufacture that is no longer in existence and have all the proper maintenance manuals Outback Balloon LLC can provide services. The repairs on balloons of manufactures that are no longer in existence can only be done as long as proper parts are available. Please call 503 866-5833 if you have any questions if Outback Balloon LLC can provide you repair services. At this time Outback Balloon does not have a chain stitch sewing machine and can not work on older Balloon Works envelopes. Please contact Alan Sanderson at Linden Services for repairs of this type of balloon and other types of balloons that use the chain stitch for the manufacture of their envelopes. Alan Sanderson also does an excellent job of balloon repair on other balloon manufactures and we are please to have him in the Oregon area.

Balloon Annuals:
Outback Balloon LLC does provide balloon annuals on all manufactures. Outback Balloon has experience with Aerostar, Cameron, Thunder and Colt, Sky, Ultra Magic, Adams, and other balloon manufactures. If you do not see your manufacture in this list please contact us for the most current list. If we do not have the manuals for your model of balloon you will need to provide the manuals prior to the start of the annual. Following are the prices set to for balloon annuals by Outback Balloon LLC and Slow Flight.
Balloon annuals are done at $300.00 per balloon for balloons 105 cubic feet and smaller. Outback Balloon can provide people to help with the annual or if you are willing to provide personnel the cost will be reduced to $250.00 The annual can be performed at our location, your location, or at any appropriate area within the Portland FSDO area.
Balloon annuals are done at $400.00 for balloons larger than 105 cubic feet up to 150 cubic feet. Additional help will need to be provided or balloons larger than 120 cubic feet. Prices for the additional help are $50.00 per person and the amount of people needed will depend upon the individual circumstances. The annual can be performed at our location, your location or at any appropriate area within the Portland FSDO area.
Outback Balloon LLC also works with Slow Flight to perform balloon annuals. Frank Sneed the owner of Slow Flight is a FAA A & P certified mechanic with an Inspector Authorization in the Portland FSDO area. Frank has been providing annuals for balloon owners for over 10 years and is authorized to work and inspect all current balloon manufactures. Frank is factory trained at Cameron, Aerostar, and Balloon Works.
